Statham Lodge, Warrington Wedding Photography Highlights: Natalie & Leo

Jack parkinson

The Morning...

Natalie and Leo married at the stunning Statham Lodge in Warrington, North West.  It’s a Georgian manor house set within 10 acres of stunning land and is the perfect place for a wedding and for wedding photography.  With plenty of character and lot’s to see, it’s easy to see why they picked this venue.

The bridal room is super handy when getting ready in the morning as it gives you plenty of space for hair and make up to be done and allows for awesome, natural photos as you have space to get the photos you want without stepping on peoples toes…always a bonus!

The morning was nice and calm with everyone in high spirits for the day.  Though it was a cold morning the sun seemed to be out for most of the day which was very welcoming.  It was great to see the wedding dresses that Natalie had as she was having a white dress as well as a traditional Chinese wedding dress which was full of colour.  The bridesmaids wore matching, soft pink dresses to complement the bride.

The Service...

It was an early service with it being a winter wedding, allowing us to have more light for photos once it was over.  The service started off with some moving tears as they caught sight of each other, that soon turned into laughter as Leo’s phone went off during the service!  Luckily it was only work calling and not someone objecting to the wedding!

Once the service was done we all headed outside to capture some family shots and natural shots of guests having a great time.  Before the wedding breakfast we headed around the grounds for some natural couples portraits and headed to the back fence where Natalie and Leo locked a padlock to it with their names and wedding date engraved.  The grounds allowing us to capture some lovely photos of the two of them.

The Reception and Speeches...

Once done we headed back inside as it was time for the speeches and wedding breakfast.  The room was decorated with wild flowers and continued the soft pink theme.  With the speeches done and the food ate it was then time for Natalie to change into her traditional Chinese wedding dress.  It looked simply stunning!  The dress change was also a sign to start the tea serving ceremony, a tradition with the earliest written record emerging during the Tang Dynasty over 1200 years ago.  It was such a pleasure to capture and to witness something that has been a tradition for so long.

The Evening Reception...

The evening reception started in full swing once the band started with people dancing and enjoying themselves.  One of my favourite times to capture people naturally is during the dancing as people really show who they are while dancing and it makes for some awesome photographs.

It was such an amazing day and a real pleasure to be the wedding photographer for Natalie and Leo.
