Beth & Paul: Lancaster Memorial, Lancashire Wedding
When I met Beth and Paul I instantly knew this wedding was going to be awesome. They told me the story of they met on the making of the Frankenweenie movie where they both work as animators (how cool!) and about their first date where they went for an Italian but waited so long to be served that they had to leave and try somewhere else only for the same thing to happen again! What are the odds?! And the engagement story is just as cool. Paul hide the wedding ring and told Beth that they had to take part in a GEO tagging game to find something someone else had hidden in the area, when they found it she opened it to find the ring! AMAZING... And also lucky that no one else found it first...
Getting married at Ashton Memorial.
Ashton memorial in Lancashire is simply stunning. Set in Williamson Park you can see it from around the area when you're driving around and you can't help but admire it and getting up close it's even better. High windows, ceilings and stunning brickwork make it the perfect place for your wedding reception.
I arrived to capture guests arriving and everyone was in high spirits for the day ahead. When Beth arrived she looked awesome as she got out the vintage car and made her way into the memorial. The service was full of emotions from laughter, tears and some great family readings before guests headed outside to greet the newly wed couple.
With it being an earlier service the park was still pretty quiet which was perfect for us to get some great snaps around the grounds without having a single soul in the background, perfect for capturing images of the couple and the full building! You could spend hours in the park exploring for photos but the building itself is just too nice not to use. After the wedding service a handful of the wedding party headed into the butterfly sanctuary that is on site before we headed out of the park and over to the reception.
ONE HELL OF A PARTY!
We arrived at the reception in Lancashire and there the party continued. They'd dressed the place full of bright colours, Chinese lanterns and a cake so good I had to question if it was real! While guests played games, drank and chatted I used this time to capture some natural images of everyone having a great time within the stunning setting. After the speeches and the wedding breakfast guests headed outside to soak up the evening sun while I pinched Beth and Paul again to have a few portraits by the lake in the evening allowing time for the room to be turned around and for Bam Bam and the Bob Cats, tonights band, to setup and soundcheck.
Once the band started playing the party turned up to 11. People dancing, singing and having an amazing time really allowed for me to get some great pictures for them to treasure! It was such a pleasure working to Ashton Memorial, Lancashire but a bigger pleasure capurting the day for this great pair!
