Emma & Dannie: Ashton Memorial & Forest Hills, Lancashire Wedding

I’ve known Emma and Dannie for a very long time, so it was great to hear I’d be capturing their wedding day.  They’d told me all about their plans before they decided to book and it sounded like the perfect wedding to be a part of.

The wedding morning took place at Lancaster House Hotel, situated right next to Lancaster University where the couple met.  We arrived to seeing Emma having her hair done which looked truly amazing at The Hair Sanctuary within the hotel!  We then headed up to their room to capture the smiles of the bridesmaids while they got ready.  As Dannie and the boys were also getting ready in the same hotel, I popped over to their room to grab a few shots of them getting ready also.

I was privileged to travel on the vintage bus with their family to the stunning Ashton Memorial in Williamson Park.  It is set on a hill and over looks Lancaster and Morecambe so has amazing views.  The venue itself, built between 1907 and 1909, is the perfect setting for a wedding.  Outstanding architecture with lovely large windows letting in lots of light, perfect for photography!

After the service, we headed into the butterfly sanctuary before heading over to Forest Hills where the rest of the celebrations was to continue.  Set in the countryside by a lake, it reminds me of a house in the Shire from Lord of The Rings.  

The day was perfect and suited Emma and Dannie to a tee.  Relaxed, but super fun, it was a day full of laugher, smiles and beauty.  Certainly a day to remember!  Enjoy the gallery below and share your moments in the comment box below.
